So it's a slope shoulder vs the standard here -

I like the SS better.

I think it is the next size down - ie '00' not 'OM', and a limited model not present on Eastman's home site. And yes a stunner!

Lovely guitar! Is there an actual difference in tone between this E20-OO-SS and E40?

I played the E20 00 SS this past week and I was very pleasantly surprised how well this guy sounded and played! If the E40 00 SS has better sound then it is one hell of a guitar. I'm a 00 guy first and I'm always on the look out for great used 00 (because some of them sound just as good as a OM and so much more comfortable) to upgrade my meager collection. I'm not really interested in the bling the 40 series come with. That 4 year E20 00 SS sounded so good that I offered my E20 OM-SB in trade.....

I can't comment on the guitar pictured above, but I have commented that I can hear a difference between my E40D and E40OM vs. their "20" counterparts.  It could be the premium woods or who's tap tuning the top (or both!), but there seems to be a difference (at least to me).  Think of a Martin D-28 vs. D-41/42/45.  Those higher models always bring something special to the table.

Limited Run PCH3 OM Cocobolo

All gloss nitrocellulose, bone nut & saddle. Dark rosewood board and bridge. Top has some light bear claw and beautiful laminated Cocobolo back and sides. Really nice guitar with gigbag for upper $300’s. Balanced with low end depth... for an OM body it was more than i expected tone wise.

Here's my AC-420 just prior to taking a trip for a much needed setup and fret work.  Action was high.  14th fret was a bit high.  Saddle was way too loose.  The verdict from the luthier was just a truss rod adjustment for the action.  He said whoever set it up originally was dead on the money, which kind of shocked him since it came from Pomona that way.  He did lower the strings a wee bit on the D and G strings at the nut.  The saddle was so loose it was falling out so he had to sweeten that up a bit as well.  He feels that the neck is way over set and that means the saddle has to be really tall.  After his work, it plays and sounds far better than my original AC-420 and that's saying something.  It was the first Eastman guitar he'd seen but he's done quite a few of their mandolins.

I play this thing out of the house at least once or twice a week.  It gets passed around.  Definitely a player and not a collector.  Hey, it's just a $1,000 guitar after all.  Usually it's strung with Tony Rice Monels.  I also have a JJB Electronics transducer pickup in it.  Also have added a strap pin at the heel.  I use an external LR Baggs preamp that I usually clip to my mic stand.  Some times I'll run it through my TC Electronic vocal pitch correction so I have it adjust chromatically to what I'm playing.  Nobody has ever guessed that I use auto-tune on my voice but then again, it's still not that great with the additional processing.

My 2020 Eastman Sitka/Rosewood orchestra model E8OM. Compared to my E20OME-TC, which may be the better guitar technically, I really love the E8OM for its sweetness of tone.

E8OM detail. I really like those snowflake inlays and herringbone. I’ve always been a Taylor player ... but have really taken to Martin and Martin style guitars.
