Lots of variables there: I have an E20D from 2020, so the top's fairly broken in this point. Don't know how it would compare with an E20D-TC or the new MR-TC models. But as Tom said, a comparison would be interesting to hear.

What I hear in that video is that the bass is fuller on the standard E20D, while the MR version is brighter-sounding. Definitely two different sounds, and both sound good.

The original estimate was/is Summer 2022. But I asked someone at Eastman last month, and they said it's late summer at best. Probably more like September / October for the first ones to reach the States.

The Asian market gets more one-offs. There are videos of MR models from a couple years ago. This video and the others were all non-TC.

Yeah,
and I hear real diamonds cost more than Cubic Zirconium

I've no beef with Eastman for charging more for what is undoubtedly a pricier tonewood to acquire. Just seems good business practice (and I suspect we'd all prefer Eastman remained in business!)

For the price it's great value. The only other guitar I can think of with such premium tonewoods at this kind of value would be the Sigma SDR-28 MLE, with all solid Adirondack top and Madagascar b/s at around £1000. But I can't find them ANYWHERE.

The
Fellowship Of The Acoustics in the Netherlands has one used (2013) Sigma SDR-28 MLE in stock. It is going for £1266.8 without VAT (which means +20% on entry to UK) plus shipping.

Has anyone heard anything recently on timing for the MR-TC models? The local dealer where I have some money down has not been able to get any updated information for the past few months. I know it was a stretch to think they would hit the 'late summer' guidance, but we are getting close to November now. Getting itchy for some Addy/Madi!!

LA Guitar Sales and others revised "summer" to "fall" for availability. The last I heard was maybe November, but possibly December... but that's all second hand info, so who knows?
