Pickguard just needed a tweak to get back in proper position. I saw on the Eastman website that many archtops now come with (D'Ad) NYXL-12s. I put a set on a few days ago, fantastic. AR805ce has gotten better and better, don't think the orig owner played it much. I'm running the odometer up in a hurry.
The solid wood construction is genuinely and truly what works for me. I had the chance to play a used AR503ce today at GC, solid spruce top with laminated back / sides. Good guitar but, much of the acoustic tone I love was missing. It's fine when played through electronics etc but... not so great for clean acoustic.
(Anybody ever wonder what's the world's record for how many shredders can be in a GC store at one time? I'm going to be hearing gerrgerrwowiewoe for the next week.)
AR805ce sounds great through my Fishman Artist amp with just a bit of reverb.
