Mitch, thanks for sharing!  Interesting discussion.  It's funny how he back-handedly refers to Eastman as building "good quality, lower end instruments."  I understand that it's not $6000+ boutique price points, but aside from the PCH and E1/E2/E3 models, it's difficult to find a new Eastman for under $1000.  Not sure I would call that "lower end" --- I've seen much worse hanging in the lower racks of Guitar Center and smaller music stores over the years.
