I have it on good authority that Eastman is switching all SS shapes to 1 3/4 nuts--right after they  ship the next batch of Smeckmans.

Is this a Roy Smeck dream or an actual SS maple dread that exists?

The E16SS is a maple slope dread that exists and the acoustic shoppe seems to have on hand (but not for sale yet.)

Eastman never making a Smeck model has been an old joke here and will likely never exist (along with 1 3/4 nuts on SS models).

Just saw the video.
I'm a big fan of maple acoustics (AC615) in my photo.
Been enjoying the Roy Smeck humor here for a while now.
Eager to hear & get a peak at a slope/maple/adi Eastman dread.

I wish that 1 3/4" ss came true.

Seriously, you guys interested in the 1 3/4" SS, look at the E20SS/v's.  The slotted headstock versions can be slightly wider, but you have to check you specific model.  The E20ooss/v consistently have much wider necks than the E10ooss/v or E10ooss or E20ooss.

I believe the slotted head is only available in the 00 version. The larger slope is available with the solid headstock. With that said, call around to various Eastman dealers. Wider nuts can occasionally be found. I have an E20SSv with a 1.747" nut. It did take calling about a dozen different dealers. Final note - great model!

Ah, you're right!  Still those specific 20/v series have different neck profiles than the 10 and 10/v series.  It's totally worth calling around if nut width is holding anyone back.  I LOVE the neck profile on my E20ooss/v and it's turned it into my favorite guitar.  I'll play the others in rotation, but that neck profile is perfect for me.
