Does anyone know the type of pickguard used on the T486 Archtop guitar? I'm going nuts trying to find a replacement. Thanks!

Hi All,

If I recall correctly, several EGF members have expressed an appetite for an all-mahogany smaller-bodied Eastman.

Just passing long, fyi, that this (below) is currently listed on Reverb, as "mint". (Notes: 1. the price might come up in Canadian dollars depending on how the linkage works, and 2. i have no affiliation with the seller.)

All best,

  SB55DC/V Inlay
Posted by: samwchristmas - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - No Replies

Hey guys!

First time poster here, I've had an SB55DC/V since November last year and it's mainly been kept at my office.

I put it in its case at the end of each day and today I noticed that one of the inlays has chipped! Quite unfortunate! Has anyone got any recommendations for a replacement inlay? Photo attached.

Thanks in advance!
Sam

  Current SB59 stock production
Posted by: SolidBody59 - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - Replies (6)

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to try out an SB59/V Red Burst at a local store. They said it was an old stock. I instantly fell in love with it and couldn't stop playing. I had decided then that I would buy it. However, that guitar was sold, so I started looking for other retailers in Europe and found many. The question is: since the demand for Eastman guitars has increased significantly in the last 2 years, do you think that the earlier productions of the SB59, referring to years 2019/2020, are better than the current productions, or have they managed to maintain the same level, even though they have grown incredibly? Does anyone have any information on this or has tried any recent Eastman guitars? Thanks!!

Hello,
Thinking of buying a Eastmen 1D lefty
It has no pick guard which seems odd as everywhere else they all have them,is this a sign of a fake?
It's from 2022
Any info would be highly helpful

  T486B-SB Bigsby Tuning Issue
Posted by: Jstay0 - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - Replies (1)

Just got a “new to me” 2021 T486B-SB” !!
Someone had it setup before me, low action no buzz. However, light bigsby use or no use at all brings on tuning issues….I realize it could be a lot of things, nut friction and saddle ect…strings are wrapped a couple times on each peg which i know helps but anyways….are the pingwell tuners any good or should I just swap them and start there along with lubing nut + saddle?

  Hello! Newb here.

I’ve owned my T386 for a few years now. I installed Seth Lover humbuckers and combined with Thomastik-Infeld flatwounds is probably the nicest sounding electric I’ve ever played. I am 55 years old and have been playing since I was 14 so I’ve played a lot of guitars over the decades. Eastman punches way above its price range that’s for sure. A couple of questions for the ladies and gents in this group. I’ve decided to jump in the deep end of the pool and learn Jazz guitar. I’ve ordered an AR805CE from Eastman. Anyone here own one and what are your thoughts? I have two amps at the moment a Fender Princeton Tone Master and a Blues Jr. I’m thinking they will work for a nice Jazz sound but recommendations will gladly be considered. I also went completely stupid and grabbed an SB59 off the used market dirt cheap so a question about the neck size between that and a 50’s Gibson Les Paul. Are they remotely similar? Both guitars should arrive today unless the 805 is still lost in the black hole called UPS.

  E20SSv VG+ condition Price drop - $sold w/shipping

2022 slope shoulder E-20SSv with vintage varnish finish - before they changed the finish in current models. Adirondack spruce with Rosewood B/S short scale (24.75") slope shoulder. Nut = 1.747" Note - I searched A LONG time to find one with this width nut. Tuners have been changed out to Gotohs with white buttons. Ebony bridge pins are changed to bone. Strap pin added at heel. K&K pick up has been added. A custom fitted John Pearse ebony armrest is installed. Because of the vintage varnish finish, I will not attempt to remove it. There are two extra bumps in addition to the factory wear - see pics below. Comes in Atkin branded TKL hard shell case (long story) that is in like new condition.

Forgot to add - shipping included, any payment fees extra. I thought I would post here first and in a few days most on AGF. Thanks for looking.

I haven't been active here but I have had several Eastman instruments come to my life in the last several years. They've all been excellent. So, I've always loved the old Gibson oval hole archtops but they're either beat to death or out of my price range (or both) Anyhoo, I did a google search on Easter Sunday and this beauty popped up. I did not hesitate and it will be in my hands next week. I have zero jazz chops but that's OK. I'll play my fingerstyle blues with it and maybe try to learn some easy jazz progressions. Regardless, I was able to buy it and that has not always been the case so why not? I had to delay shipment because of my traveling but it should arrive a week from today. I'll post my own pics when I get it but the dealer pics are much better than anything I'll get with my cell phone.
