Why no torrefied tops for E20 o and oo guitars ?

I asked to Eastman but still don’t have answers.
What do you think ?
Also wouldn’t it be better to have sitka spruce instead of Adi for those fingerstyle guitars ?

I don't have any answers, but was playing my E10oo this morning and I LOVE it.  I took around a fully year for me to get used to the wider fretboard and chunky neck, but nothing else I have sounds quite like it.  I wouldn't trade its Adi top for sitka either.

I don't think the 0 (P) and 00 body sizes are big enough sellers for them to carry too many variations.  Maybe that will change, someday, and they'll add a TC or Sitka option.  I think the reason they use Adi is b/c (1.) Eastman's earliest models were all Adi tops and (2.) Adi provides more note clarity vs. Sitka.  But that's subjective, so I think the real reason is b/c they just don't make or sell a lot of these models.

I have an E20P and preferred that it had an Adi top vs. Sitka.

I got the answer from Eastman:

« The main reason we do not produce the Parlor and OO models in a TC version is due to capacity limitations. As much as we would love to build every guitar in multiple versions, we do everything we can and work within our limitations to reliably produce the best instruments we can. But as our production capacities grow new models and model variations will certainly come to fruition. »

That's a great, honest answer, which aligns with my suspicion.  They're chasing capacity and have to focus on what's most in demand.  But it's exciting to hear they plan to grow capacity (hopefully not at the expense of quality or abandoning what's gotten them this far).

There is an alternative for the models E10/20 00, E10/20 00 SS and the E10/20 parlors. Starting in 2011 and possibly thru 2015 Eastman put 20 year old aged Adi tops on the above models or until they ran out.. Mine was build in 2014 and does have the 20 year old aged top as per Eastman. Those models come up for sale every now then. They definitely sound opened up and there's almost all the headroom you can handle. Great little sounding guitars.
