Thanks, Tom.  And no thunder-stealing here... we've talked offline about these guitars, and I'm trying to figure them out, same as you.  You bring up a really good point about the overtones.  This guitar has fewer of them, which I attribute to the "dry" sound, and I would say my E8D-TC (Alpine) is similar that way.  As for the low-end growl, I don't want that comment to get blown out of proportion... it's there, but need to keep in mind that it's still a short scale OM, so it's not going to have the thunder of a big body dread.

Changing strings makes sense.   They made a huge change, when I swapped for the DR Rare, which brought out some of that Eastman shine, where the D'Add sounded a little dull.  I'll be curious if Nickel or Retros would diminish any remaining overtones?  I considered trying GHS VB lights, but not sure if that would mellow it out too much or not.  Tom, feel free to post here with your discoveries!
