Eastman T486 pickups

Are you generally a single coil player?  Someone used to playing strats or teles will definitely find a neck humbucker to be dark sounding in comparison no matter the brand.

I agree that humbuckers are generally darker than single coils.
I have a Tele and a Strat clone which can at times be piercingly bright.

My comment was due to a drop in high frequencies from both the bridge and neck humbuckers due to a partially shorted cable.

Hi!
First post!

I also own a t486 and the neck pickup is really dark and boomy.
So I got some Lollars and had them installed.

Installer kinda mess up and I had to take it back, but the Lollars were sounding wimpy, no life and no body.

I will get back to you again when I get the guitar back.
If I don't get it by Saturday, I will post after the 30th as I am flying out for a week.

Anyone knows  if the 486T are wired with 50's wiring or modern wiring?

Good plan Pura Vida
So i mailed to Eastman Europe with the same question and a quick respond in Dutch (Eastman Europe settles in Almere Holland)

De T486 is inderdaad identiek bedraad als een ES-335.
Ik wens je veel succes met je project!

Met vriendelijke groet,
D. van C. | Eastman Europe

This means
The T486 has indeed exactly the same wirring diagram as the es 335.
Goodluck with your project
Kind regards.....

Lollars are in and now I am messing with pickups height. Who knows, I might get it right or not, LOL.

Any suggestions on where to start?
2.4mm-1.6mms?

TY!

I am certain there are others in this forum who can help you with pickup swapping who know way more than I do.
Search the forum topics.
Good luck,
