Eastman E1D Special?

I really love sapele as a tonewood...I think that extra zing on the top end is great for single note lines and really cuts through regular hog B/S.  Seems to be very responsive when built right, possibly due to it can be thinner since it is quite a bit harder and stiffer than all true mahogany. Curly or Quilted is icing on the cake! I played a Santa Cruz OM, Quilted Sapele/German Spruce @ my home town shop Dream Guitars and it was one of the most impressive sounding, loud, unreal projection, super responsive and versatile guitars I've ever played. For an OM it blew me away...Unfortunately it was out of my budget at the time!   Big Grin

I've been a Blackmore fan forever...love this.  Hard to copy his licks!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkTSX-CoLtY

I saw one today at Martin music in Memphis.
Really nice all gloss solid wood dred with exotic sapele back and side.
Looked more like “ pommole “ figure than Burke to me.
At the low price it’s gonna be hard for me not to get one ( I like to buy used but this may be one that will sell for more after they run out)
