Got a 2022 E1D with the Toasted Top this week.
Top is much darker than the photo.

I purchased my E1D in November 2023. In 4 months of playing it daily it has really opened up. I'd say it sounds much better, open and full now.
I can't imagine how much better a more expensive Eastman might sound. I have my eye on the E10ss/v. Tomorrow I think I'm going to put my deposit for a special order.

After two weeks impression.
The TC top (Thanks EGF) For info in the 2022 time frame when some standard Sitka tops were replaced for a short time with TC Tops.
It's a lightweight dread.
The open pore back and sides in my opinion has more volume & clarity.
The neck is very comfortable.
The Torrefied top definitely removed a lot of the harshness of a new guitar.
