Question: Replacement tuners for T486 Semi-Hollow? - thescumalsorises - 02-20-2024
Hi all -- I'm looking to upgrade the tuners on my Eastman T486 semi-hollow electric and would appreciate some guidance. Is anyone aware of tuners (particularly locking) that would fit as drop-in replacements -- that is, without needing to drill or expand any of the existing holes and routes?
While the tuners (PingWell RM1239-NV) appear to be Kluson-shaped, I've read elsewhere that Kluson and many Kluson-style replacements aren't a straight fit.
Anyone know of or have any luck with drop-in replacement tuners for these? Appreciate any help you can provide.

I replaced mine with Kluson 'Revolution' tuners, in Nickel finish. Perfect fit and 19:1 ratio. They look exactly like the original Tulip tuners that come on the T486 & T 186
** Just make sure you order the 'Non Collared' set. Part # KRGNC-3-NP
Otherwise you will have to enlarge the hole for the threaded collars.
